Hello 2020 || Let’s talk re-branding, life update & bookish goals

Hello guys and happy 2020! I haven’t been active on here since forever and I’m sure a lot of you might have been wondering where I’ve gone and what I’ve been up to. Well I am finally here to tell you, so sit back, relax and let’s talk

First things first, if you’re reading this and have no idea who Blonde That Babbles is, don’t worry I’ve re-branded. For many years this blog was called Book Adventures but for a very long time I’ve been wanting to re-brand and start something “new” and this is how Blonde That Babbles was born. I’m essentially a blonde that likes to babble about a lot of different things, including books, TV shows, movies, travel, food and just life in general and this is basically what Blonde That Babbles is going to be about. It will still be predominantly focused on my love for reading and marathon watching tons of series, but I would love to be able to talk a little bit more about my travels and my life in general on here as time progresses.

Mini life update

Now that that’s out of the way and we’re all acquainted once more, I am sure a lot of you wondered why I disappeared from the face of the earth. If you’ve been following this blog for a little while now {before I went missing in action} you would know that I’m unhappy at my current job and that said job requires lots of travel and overtime work. Honestly I was just always so tired from working overtime and when I had a little bit of free time, reading and blogging felt like a chore and I felt uninspired to do it. Add in the fact that my granddad passed away in August, I just really didn’t feel like blogging or reading that much.

With that being said, it is a new year and I have missed reading and blogging a whole lot. This year I really want to get back into the swing of things and become passionate about blogging once more. An added bonus is the fact that I start a new job in February and I am so damn excited to see what 2020 has in store for me! More exciting news is the fact that I also got engaged last year and I look forward to planning a wedding and getting married to my best friend.

2020 Goals

I didn’t really have tons of goals last year, I set my Goodreads challenge at 12 books and I surpassed that by reading a total of 23 books in 2019. A rather low number for me, but I am still proud of what I achieved considering everything that went on in my life. This year I have a few simple reading & blogging goals that I would like to achieve.

• Read 52 books. This is the goal I’ve set for myself on Goodreads and I think it is really attainable as I only have to read one book per week. If I manage to read more than this number I would be ecstatic, but I’ll be just as happy to just reach 52.

• Read the monthly book from the Late to the Hype Book Club. A book club dedicated to books that have been hyped for a while, but that haven’t been read yet. The pick for January is Strange the Dreamer by Liani Taylor and I’m super excited to finally be reading this book.

• Rediscover my love for reading and blogging. I really want to create a schedule that will be comfortable with my workload and everything else that I have going on. As far as reading goes I plan on reading all the books that I want. I have a ton of good books on my backlist that I’ve been wanting to read since forever and I can’t wait to finally do that.

I hope each and every one of you has an amazing 2020 and that you read all the books you want to and achieve everything you set out to achieve.

• Please let me know what your 2020 goals are as well as some books that I absolutely have to add to my 2020 TBR •

– Love, Michelle xx
